The European Soccer Championship is almost over - and I’m pretty grateful for this.
I’m not a huge fan of soccer as a such, anyway, and during the European Championship Germany was a bit weird on the whole. Now it’s just two more matches and everything will be over.
What annoyed me most wasn’t the different program scheme (lots of soccer, before the matches, during the matches and after the matches), but the celebrations deep into the night whenever a team won. It’s a European championship, after all, and there’s a lot of people from other European countries living in Germany and, naturally, supporting their own teams. If you have to get up early in the morning and people drive by your house honking loudly (or even walk by screaming and drumming) around one o’clock in the night, it’s not very funny.
Germany has made it to the final (and our adversary will be Spain), but I’m not exactly thrilled by it. At least it will be over this Sunday...
EDIT: it is over and Spain won. Good for my sleep last night.
